Raúl Entrerríos Rodríguez (born February 12, 1981 in Gijón , Asturias ) is a Spanish handball player . He plays for the Spanish club FC Barcelona and the Spanish national team and is mostly used in the center of the backcourt .

Career

Raúl Entrerríos started playing handball at C.Naranco. From 2001 he played for Ademar León , where he won the Copa del Rey de Balonmano in 2002 and the European Cup Winners' Cup in 2005. In 2007 Raúl Entrerríos moved to local rival BM Valladolid , with whom he won the 2009 European Cup Winners' Cup. In the summer of 2010, Entrerríos signed a contract with FC Barcelona. A year later, Entrerríos won the championship and the EHF Champions League with Barcelona . In the seasons 2011/12, 2012/13, 2013/14, 2014/15, 2015/16, 2016/17, 2017/18, 2018/19 and 2019/20 further championship titles followed. In 2013/14 he also won the Supercopa Asobal , the Copa ASOBAL and the King's Cup. In 2015 he won the EHF Champions League for the second time.

Entrerríos has so far played 261 international matches for the Spanish national team , scoring 594 goals. At the 2005 World Cup he was world champion with Spain. He also won silver at the 2006 European Championships in Switzerland. At the 2008 Olympic Games and the 2011 World Championships , he won bronze medals with the Spanish team. He missed the 2013 World Cup due to an injury. He won bronze at the 2014 European Championships in Denmark . In 2018 and 2020 he was European champion with the Spanish team .

Raúl's older brother, Alberto Entrerríos , is also a professional handball player.
