Alberto Entrerríos Rodríguez (born November 7, 1976 in Gijón , Spain ) is a former Spanish handball player who currently works as a coach at the French club HBC Nantes . With the Spanish national team he was twice world champion. He played in the left and central back and is 1.92 m tall.
Career
Alberto Entrerríos started playing handball with C. Naranco. In 1998, Entrerrios signed with his first professional team, Ademar León , with whom he won the Spanish championship in 2001 . In 2001 he moved to FC Barcelona for one season , with whom he won the Copa ASOBAL in 2002. In 2002 he moved on to BM Ciudad Real . Here he won the Spanish championship in 2004, 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010 , the Copa ASOBAL in 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2011, the Copa del Rey de Balonmano in 2003, 2008, 2010 and 2011 , and the Spanish one in 2005 and 2008 Supercup , the Champions League in 2006, 2008 and 2009 , the European Cup Winners' Cup in 2003 and the European Club Championship in 2005 and 2006 . In summer 2012 he joined the French club HBC Nantes. In 2016 he ended his career at HBC Nantes and then took over as assistant coach. In 2019 he took over the coaching position of HBC Nantes.
Alberto Entrerríos was with Spain in Tunisia in 2005 and 2013 in their own country world champion, in 2011 he won bronze . He also won bronze at the 2004 and 2008 Olympic Games and silver at the 2006 European Championships in Switzerland. After the 35:19 final victory over Denmark at the 2013 World Cup, he ended his career with the national team. He played 240 international matches and scored 726 goals.
Alberto's younger brother, Raúl Entrerríos , is also a professional handball player. He plays for FC Barcelona .
