Raúl Lozano

Raúl Lozano (born  September 3, 1956 in La Plata , Argentina ) is an Argentine volleyball coach who was the national coach of the German men's volleyball team from 2009 to 2011 .

Career

Raúl Lozano has coached numerous men's volleyball teams in his home country Argentina since 1981 and in Italy since 1988 . At the same time, he coached the Spanish men's national team at times in the 1990s . From 2005 to 2008 he was the coach of the Polish men's national team , with which he was runner-up in Japan in 2006 . From 2009 to 2011 he was the coach of the German men's national team .

After the poor performance of the German team at the 2011 European Volleyball Championship (15th place), the DVV management decided shortly before the pre-qualification tournament for the 2012 Olympic Games in Tourcoing to part with Lozano, whose contract actually ran until 2012 Team to be looked after temporarily by junior national coach Stewart Bernard, assistant coach Ralph Bergmann and the injured national player Stefan Hübner .

Lozano has been coaching the Iranian men's national team since 2016 .
