The white wine variety Rabo de Ovelha is an autochthonous variety in Portugal .
distribution
The name ( Portuguese : lambs tail) is derived from the shape of the grapes. The variety is recommended for cultivation in the regions of Douro , Trás-os-Montes , Beira Interior Sul , Beira Interior Norte , Beira Litoral , Ribatejo and Oeste . It is also approved in the Algarve . The area under vines is around 3,115 hectares .

Despite similar or identical synonyms, there is no relationship with the ' Rabigato ' grape variety .
