Rachel Wallader (born September 1, 1989 in Stourbridge ) is a British shot putter .

Athletic career

Rachel Wallader gained her first experience in international competitions at the Commonwealth Games 2014 in Glasgow , where she finished fourth with 16.83 m. In 2016 she took part in the European Championships in Amsterdam , where she finished twelfth with 16.06 m in the final. At the European Indoor Championships 2017 in Belgrade , however, she was eliminated with 17.35 m in qualification, as well as at the World Championships in London , where 16.81 m was not enough for a final . In 2018 she again took part in the Commonwealth Games in the Australian Gold Coast , where she finished sixth with 17.48 m.

In 2013 and from 2015 to 2017 Wallader was British champion in outdoor shot put as well as in 2013 and 2014 and from 2016 to 2018 also indoors. She completed studies at Bishop Grosseteste University and University College Birmingham . In 2010 she was suspended for ten months for a doping offense. However, this suspension was suspended after four months.
