history

At the beginning of 1871, the Dresden type foundry owner Fürchtegott Hermann Butter founded a printing company and a publishing house in Kötzschenbroda . In February 1871 he published the two self-printed local newspapers, Kötzschenbrodaer Wochenblatt and Oberlößnitz-Radebeuler Wochenblatt , which appeared twice a week . In 1875 the Dresden book printer Nitzelnadel took over the company.

The Weinböhlaer Ernst Kupky took over 1,883 printing and publishing. Kupky led only Radebeuler weekly on, for he 1889 a printing shop in Radebeul instituted. In the following year he took on Bruno Dietze as a co-owner in the book printing and publishing house, which from then on traded as Kupky & Dietze . Further changes of ownership with the company name remaining followed in 1896 to Max Brummer and in 1918 to Curt and Rudolf Müller.

On May 1, 1896, a new printing house equipped with modern high-speed presses was inaugurated at Radebeuler Gellertstrasse 3 ( Gutenberghaus ) . The “economic flourishing of the Loessnitz” required a larger volume of the newspaper, and the publication cycle was shortened to three times a week. From 1899 the paper appeared as an evening newspaper with a frequency of six times a week, i.e. as a daily newspaper . From 1900 onwards the newspaper was called Radebeuler Tageblatt. The independent and non-partisan newspaper for the Lößnitz . The responsible editors at that time were among others Heinrich Feder, Alfred Deininger and Curt Müller.

The newspaper also took on the function of the official gazette for Radebeul with Serkowitz , Oberlößnitz , Wahnsdorf , Boxdorf , Eisenberg and Reichenberg .

In addition to the extensive advertising section and a large part of national and international reports, the content of the newspaper consisted of a comparatively small volume of local news. To strengthen it, the monthly local history supplement Lößnitz-Heimat appeared from 1925 , but had to be discontinued at the end of 1928 due to a lack of suitable contributions. In the 1920s , Kupky & Dietze (owners C. and R. Müller) was one of the largest printing companies in the region with seven large high-speed presses including a modern rotary press.

In June 1941, by order of the authorities, the company was merged with the Generalanzeiger for the Lößnitz from neighboring Kötzschenbroda due to the existing paper management and the newspaper was published under the changed name Radebeuler Tageblatt with Generalanzeiger for the Lößnitz . The newly created Müller & Ziegner KG publishing house was created for this purpose . At the end of March 1943, the united newspaper had to cease its publication due to paper shortages.

The printing company Kupky & Dietze continued to operate after the Second World War and, for example, produced books for the Karl May Foundation .

Attempt at stimulation

From February 11, 1993 to the end of 1995, the Meißner Tageblatt publishing company , the Radebeuler Tageblatt, attempted to do so. To revive the latest news from the Lößnitz with a fortnightly appearance.
