Radio Kultur (initially * radio kultur , later written RADIOkultur ) was a public radio program from Berlin , which mainly dealt with cultural topics. It existed from 1997 to 2003.

history

Radio Kultur was founded on October 3rd, 1997 as a joint program by SFB and ORB . The SFB was in charge of the program. Individual parts of the program such as the traditional SFB feature were taken over from the former SFB 3 .

The positioning of the station was realigned on January 1, 2001. The culture radio of SFB and ORB as a sophisticated radio wave, a program with a clear profile for everyone who loves classical music and is interested in culture. From now on, RadioKultur will broadcast as part of the family of channels as a special-interest program for classical music and culture with an approximately balanced word-music ratio. With the word profile culture, the classical music color and the regional reference to Berlin and the capital region, RadioKultur developed a wave identity. The philosophy of the thematic program was based on addressing a specific audience segment. The RadioKultur program was based on user behavior and listening expectations. Berlin interpreters (conductors, orchestras, ensembles) and Berlin actors were clearly in the foreground. The repeat date of the morning reading (8:30 a.m. - 9:00 a.m.) from 7:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. accommodated a concern of many listeners.

In the course of the merger of the SFB and ORB to form the RBB broadcasting corporation , the Radio Kultur station was discontinued on November 30, 2003.

The successor to Radio Kultur is Kulturradio , which started broadcasting on December 1, 2003 largely on the previous frequencies of Radio Kultur and Radio 3 , the joint classical and cultural wave of SFB, ORB and NDR.
