Rafael Masahiro Umemura ( Japanese ラ フ ァ エ ル 梅村 昌 弘 , Rafaeru Umemura Masahiro ; born June 14, 1952 in Yokohama ) is Bishop of Yokohama .

Life

Rafael Masahiro Umemura was ordained a priest on March 25, 1985 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Yokohama on March 16, 1999. The Archbishop of Tokyo , Peter Seiichi Cardinal Shirayanagi , donated him episcopal ordination on May 15 of the same year; Co- consecrators were Curia Cardinal Stephen Fumio Hamao and Francis Xavier Kaname Shimamoto IdP , Archbishop of Nagasaki .
