Ragni Maria Gschwend
Ragni Maria Gschwend (born September 10, 1935 in Immenstadt ) is a German translator for Italian literature and publishing consultant. She has lived in Freiburg im Breisgau since 1976 .
Life
After school, high school and a book trade apprenticeship , publishing work in Cologne, studying Italian in Perugia, Munich and Siena as well as after stays abroad in England and Paris, Gschwend now lives as a freelance translator in Freiburg. She was involved in the rowohlt's deutsche enzyklopädie series as an editorial assistant and was the managing director of the Bavarian Writers' Association .
She is a member of the PEN Center Germany .
Since 2001 she has been President of the Friends of the International Promotion of Literary and Scientific Translations. V.
Gschwend is a member of the Association of German-Language Translators of Literary and Scientific Works , VdÜ.
