Rahat ( Hebrew רהט, Arabic رهطRest, contentment) is a city in Israel . In 2018 it had 69,032 inhabitants. The population of Rahat consists almost exclusively of Bedouins and is very young overall: in 2001 65.2% were younger than 20 years, another 15.8% were younger than 30 years. The population growth in 2001 was 5.9%.

Rahat is located 12 kilometers north of Beer Sheva in the Negev desert.

Rahat was founded in the early 1970s and received city administration status in 1994 .
In 2019 the 7th or 8th century mosque near Rahat was discovered, one of the oldest mosques of Islam in today's Israel. The mosque dates from a period of cultural and religious change during the transition from the Byzantine to the Islamic period. In the vicinity of the site, the researchers discovered other facilities of early Islamic agriculture, including a large farmhouse. A new city district is to be built on the site.
Residents
The city's residents are 100% Muslim. The birth rate is one of the highest in the world. In 2016 Rahat had 64,462 inhabitants.
