history

The Raiffeisenbank Ratzeburg was founded on February 14, 1950 at a farmers' meeting as the “Spar- und Kreditkasse eGmbH Ratzeburg”. It was entered in the cooperative register on May 31, 1950. Later, the savings and loan fund eGmbH Ratzeburg expanded and in 1965 acquired a commercial property in the Ratzeburg suburb. In the same year, the construction of a 25-meter-high grain silo and the construction of a warehouse for storing grain and fertilizers followed. Over time, this resulted in a land trade that developed into a home and garden market. A bank branch has also been integrated there.

On May 6, 1969, the Raiffeisenbank merged with the Spar- und Autovermietung eG.mbH Seedorf . In 1974 the “Spar- und Kreditkasse eGmbH Ratzeburg” was converted into “Raiffeisenbank eG Ratzeburg”. In 2001 the bank finally merged with the Raiffeisenbank Krummesse . This was founded in 1904.

In 2014, the grain silos were dismantled because the grain trade was abandoned in the early 2000s. In 2015, the restructuring of the area began, which was completed in 2018 with the construction of a new administration building with an integrated branch.

A house and garden center and a bank branch are operated at the Schweriner Strasse location. There is also a self-service petrol station on site that has been leased.
