Rainer Gutknecht

Rainer Gutknecht (born June 1, 1931 in Stuttgart ; † March 13, 2018 in Bad Dürrheim ) was a German politician ( CDU ).

Life

Rainer Gutknecht, son of the mayor of Rottweil Arnulf Gutknecht , studied law in Tübingen, Munich and Heidelberg. In 1958 he received his doctorate from the University of Tübingen on the basis of his dissertation "The District President and His Authority" . After the first and second state law exams, he worked for six years as a consultant for organization, constitution and police at the German Association of Cities. In 1966 he was elected district director by the Rheinisch-Bergisch district council.

From 1973 to 1996 he was the full-time district administrator of the Schwarzwald-Baar district , which was created in 1973 through the territorial reform of the districts of Donaueschingen and Villingen. Gutknecht was the first district administrator of the new Schwarzwald-Baar district to play a key role in the creation from 1973.

He was also district chairman of the German Red Cross from 1976 to 1992.
