The Rakaposhi Haramosh Mountains are a mountain range in the Karakoram in the Gilgit-Baltistan region of Pakistan . They do not belong to the main ridge of the Karakoram - the Muztagh chains - but belong to the so-called small Karakoram . The northwest corner pillar is the 7,788 m high Rakaposhi , which is also the highest mountain in the mountain range. Diran and Malubiting follow to the east and the Haramosh to the south .
The Rakaposhi Haramosh Mountains are bounded in the south by the Indus , in the west by the Gilgit and Hunza rivers and in the northwest by the Hispar River , which rises on the Hispar glacier . The range of the Spantik-Sosbun Mountains joins to the north of the Malubiting, and the Chogo-Lungma Glacier rises between Spantik and Malubiting , flowing eastwards and continuing the northern border. The mountains “flatten” (the mountains no longer reach the 6000 meter mark) increasingly towards the east, where they are bordered by the Shigar River.
