Ralf zur Linde (born November 19, 1969 in Bad Wildungen , Hessen ) is a German game designer .

Life

Zur Linde studied in Bielefeld and is a trained primary school teacher. His first games appeared in the early 1990s .

Marino is a simple bluff game that zur Linde developed in 1992; only a year later, the apple of contention appeared . This is an economy game in which apples are bought cheaply and sold at high prices. The game Tahiti from 1995 was developed by zur Linde with the game journalist Ralf E. Kahlert . At this time, zur Linde also began developing innovative learning and logic games for the computer. In 2004 his game Pushy was awarded the German Educational Software Prize as part of the learning software Lernwerkstatt he developed. In the following years he devoted himself fully to updating his digital games and largely withdrew from inventing board games. It wasn't until 2009 that zur Linde invented a board game again in collaboration with Wolfgang Sentker .

With Finca , zur Linde achieved one of his greatest board game successes. The game was nominated for the title Game of the Year in 2009 and made it into the top 10 in the 2009 German Game Award . It was later named "Finca" Game of the Year in Finland and appeared in China, America and many other countries. Also in 2009, was Pushy on the Apple iPhone released and was there in September 2009 for the best-selling game ever. With the game "Eselsbrücke", zur Linde was again nominated for Game of the Year 2012.
