history
The Breslau Rally started for the first time in 1995 from Munich with 35 cars, 20 motorcycles and 5 trucks. In 1999, the starting point for the 65 cars, 50 motorcycles and 15 trucks that were now taking part, as well as various accompanying vehicles, was moved to Berlin . Due to a traffic chaos on Alexanderplatz , the organizers were asked to postpone the start of the rally. The choice fell on a lignite area near Senftenberg , where the rally started in 2001 towards Poland.
In 2005, 106 cars, 65 motorcycles and 38 trucks were at the start. The last start was in 2006 from Senftenberg or Cottbus , as the lignite mining area was flooded and renatured. In the following year, the start of the rally was moved to Dresden . Jutta Kleinschmidt and Walter Röhrl took over the start of the show several times over the ramp. The offroad fair of the same name has also been held in Dresden since 2008. The first stage of the rally was driven at this fair. In 2010, kabel eins broadcast a documentary about the rally in which they accompanied the participating Ludolf brothers .
From 2011 the rally will start on two tracks: Breslau Poland , which until then has never led to Breslau , started in the city for the first time and ended in Dresden. The Breslau Balkan started in the Romanian Carpathians and led back to Romania via Bulgaria; since 2012 it has only taken place in Bulgaria. In 2012 the number of vehicles doubled compared to the previous year. In 2013, drivers from eleven nations took part and the number of vehicles doubled again compared to 2012.
For the 20th anniversary, the prologue and the first stage of the rally started on the motocross track at the Lausitzring in 2013 and ended a week later in Żagań, Poland .
The successor event to Baja Germany in the format of a weekend event is the 2018 Breslau 500 .
For the 25th edition of the Breslau Poland Rally on July 1, 2019, over 1369 km (of which 913 km), 118 cars (SSV, passenger cars and trucks) and 74 motorcycles and quads started in Gwda Wielka .
