Rangels
Under Ranggeln , Ranggln , refers to a type of struggle in the Eastern Alps .
The winner of the competition acquires the title Hogmoar , in the Zillertal also Mairaffar , Roblar . The Hoagmoar (to Hag 'hedge, property line' and Meier 'administrator') is an old office of the free peasantry of the jurisdiction in property matters, as the local supreme authority in disputes. The white cutting pen ( Schneid , Upper German 'courage') is a widespread badge that the reigning Hoagmoar can infect as an official insignia.
The sport is thus in the ethnographic context of fighting games that are widespread around the world and represent ritualized dispute settlement institutions.
