Raphaël François Minassian

Raphaël François Minassian ICPB ( Armenian Ռաֆայել Մինասյան ; born October 24, 1946 in Jerusalem ) is the Armenian Catholic Archbishop and Ordinary for the Armenian Catholic faithful in Eastern Europe .

Life

Raphaël François Minassian studied at the Lebanese seminary in Rome from 1966 and was ordained a religious priest of the Patriarchal Congregation of Bzommar (ICPB) in 1973 . From 1996 to 2006 he was pastor of the Armenian Catholic community in California , where he was also the editor of Avetaber-Verelk and founder of the Armenian television station.

On September 26, 2005, Raphaël François Minassian was named Patriarchal Exarch of Jerusalem and Amman .

With the appointment as Ordinary of Eastern Europe on June 24, 2011, the appointment as Titular Archbishop of Caesarea in Cappadocia degli Armeni followed . The Patriarch of Cilicia Archbishop Nerses Bedros XIX. donated his episcopal ordination on July 16, 2011 ; Archbishop Nechan Karakéhéyan ICPB and Bishop Manuel Batakian ICPB assisted as co-consecrators .

Middle East Synod

As a participant in the Special Assembly of the Synod of Bishops on the Middle East , Minassian advocated the increased use of mass media to pave a "communicative way" to create real communion between the various Catholic Churches in the Holy Land and throughout the Middle East.
