Nechan Karakéhéyan ICPB (born April 17, 1932 in Piraeus ) is emeritus professor of Eastern Europe .

Life

Nechan Karakéhéyan joined the religious order of the Institut du Clergé Patriarcal de Bzommar and was ordained a priest on July 2, 1960 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Ordinary of Greece on 1991 . On September 27, 2000, he was named Bishop of Ispahan .

The Patriarch of Cilicia , Nerses Bedros XIX. , gave him episcopal ordination on January 28 of the following year ; Co- consecrators were Grégoire Ghabroyan ICPB, Bishop of Sainte-Croix-de-Paris , and Manuel Batakian ICPB, Apostolic Exarch of the United States of America and Canada .

On January 7, 2003, he was appointed Apostolic Administrator of Greece. On April 2, 2005, he was appointed Ordinary of Eastern Europe and Titular Archbishop of Adana degli Armeni . On January 6, 2010, Pope Benedict XVI. his age-related retirement.

From 2003 to 2015 he was Apostolic Administrator of the Ordinariate for Armenian Believers in Greece.
