Vartan Tekeyan
Vartan Tekeyan ICBP (also Vartan Tékéyan , Armenian Վարդան Թեքեյան ; * March 5, 1921 in Adana ; † April 12, 1999 in Tehran ) was an Armenian Catholic bishop in Ispahan in Iran .
Life
Vartan Tekeyan was ordained a priest on January 1, 1944, as a religious priest of the Patriarchal Congregation of Bzommar . His appointment as Bishop of Ispahan took place on December 6, 1972. The Patriarch of Cilicia Archbishop Iknadios Bedros XVI. Batanian and the co- consecrators Georges Layek , Archbishop of Aleppo in Syria , and Raphaël Bayan , Bishop of Iskanderiya in Egypt , donated him episcopal ordination on February 25, 1973 .
Bishop Tekeyan was President of the Iranian Bishops' Conference and Caritas Iran from 1995 to 1999 .
