River course

The Rapid River has its source at Grouse Lake , many kilometers east of the Beckler River. The Rapid River flows eastwards, turns south, southwest, and finally west. Several smaller rivers flow into the Rapid River from Lake Janus and the western slopes of Jove Peak . Other flow to it by also on the crest of the Cascade Range situated Union Peak to. The Pacific Crest Trail follows the ridge and parts of the Rapid River riverbed. Both the Jove and Union Peak, which are among the high foothills of the Cascade Range, separate the catchment area of the Rapid River from that of the Little Wenatchee River . While the water of the Rapid River ultimately flows into the Puget Sound , the Little Wenatchee River flows, over the Wenatchee River , into the Columbia River. From its source, which is near the crest of the Cascade Range, the Rapid River flows southwest and west, whereby he takes up several source rivers. One of these tributaries comes from the north and in turn receives an inflow from two lakes called Cup Lake and Saucer Lake (“ Cup and Saucer Lake ”). The Rapid River makes a northward turn. The North Fork Rapid River emerges miles further north, its headwaters arise from Pear Lake, Peach Lake and Grass Lake, near Wenatchee Pass on the crest of the Cascade Range. Some of the larger mountains in the Rapid River basin include Valhalla Mountain, Scrabble Mountain, Scorpion Mountain, Sunrise Mountain, Evergreen Mountain, Grizzly Peak, and Fortune Mountain. In terms of river size and flow rate, the real source of the South Fork Skykomish Rivers is the Rapid and Beckler Rivers, although the South Fork retains its name above its confluence with the Beckler River.
