Town hall (Ortenberg, Hessen)
The town hall in Ortenberg , a town in the Wetterau district in Hesse , was built around 1500. The half-timbered house at Steingasse 1 is a protected monument .
description
The building on the slope has a massive basement and a massive ground floor on which a half-timbered upper floor and an attic each protrude. The cellar with sandstone gate was probably built in the 15th century. The upper floor dates from around 1500. A rectangular roof turret from the 1st half of the 19th century sits on the high gable . The portal with tendril framing is marked with the year 1605. The oculi above are from 1782. The framework shows only St. Andrew's crosses as decorative shapes.
