Raul Campos e Castro (born December 6, 1947 in Rio de Janeiro ) is a Brazilian diplomat .

Life

Raul Campos e Castro is the son of Lia Campos e Castro and Milton da Silva e Castro. In 1968 he completed the Curso Preparatório à Carreira Diplomática of the Rio Branco Institute and in 1970 was appointed Secretary of the Third Class.

From 1974 to 1977 he was a member of the delegation to UNESCO in Paris, where he was promoted to second-class legation secretary in 1975. As such, he was then used until 1978 in Kingston (Jamaica) , then until 1980 in Georgetown (Guyana) . In 1980, Castro was appointed Secretary of the First Class and was promoted to the Consulate General in New York City as Consul until 1982 .

A year later he worked in the Africa Department until 1984 and was then employed as first-class legation secretary in Lomé until 1987 . From 1987 to 1990 Castro was assigned to the Consulate General in Milan as consul and a year later he was an assistant in the Latin American economics department. In the same year he was deputy head of the Mercosur department until 1994 , where he was appointed Legation Councilor in 1992, depending on his career. From 1994 to 1997 he was accredited as Consul General in Vancouver . Castro then served as a delegation councilor in Lisbon until 2001 and subsequently headed the Middle East department until 2003 and was promoted to envoy in 2003 in recognition of his achievements.

Finally, from 2003 to 2004, Castro was transferred to Quito as chargé d'affaires, where he headed the Middle East department in 2004. From 2004 to 2008 he worked as an envoy in Pretoria , where he was appointed envoy with allowance in 2007. Finally, Castro took over the embassy in Abu Dhabi United Arab Emirates from April 30, 2008 to January 12, 2012 and has been ambassador to Saint John's (Antigua and Barbuda) since July 11, 2011 .
