Raymond Guiot

Raymond Guiot (born October 5, 1930 in Roubaix ) is a French musician ( flute , also piano ) and composer who has emerged in the field of classical music as well as in jazz and easy listening .

Live and act

Guiot received a classical music education on from the age of seven years, Conservatory of Lille . As a student of the flautist Marcel Moyse , he received the first prize of the Paris Conservatory in 1947 . First he was in the orchestra of the Opéra de Lille under Fernand Oubradous and Georges Prêtre . Between 1950 and 1956 he taught at the École nationale de musique in Calais.

In 1956 he took a position in the orchestra of the Garde républicaine in Paris and also worked as a studio musician. Between 1962 and 1991 he was solo flutist at the Paris Opera . Since the mid-1960s he has led his own groups in the field of jazz, with which he recorded several albums; he also performed in a duo with bassist Guy Pedersen. He can also be heard on albums by André Hodeir , Baden Powell , Maxime Saury or Elek Bacsik as well as in numerous film scores.

From 1977 he supported Alain Marion at the Paris Conservatory in the training of flautists.
