Rebekah Johnson

Rebekah Johnson (born September 3, 1976 in Ohio ) is an American actress and singer .

Life and accomplishments

Johnson grew up in Cleveland . The actress made her debut on an episode of the 1994 television series Welcome to Life . In the 1995 biopic Tyson , she starred alongside Michael Jai White , who played Mike Tyson . In the 1996 drama Pick Up (Ruby Jean and Joe) , she played the title role of Ruby Jean , who befriends Joe Wade ( Tom Selleck ). For this role she was nominated for the 1997 Young Artist Award .

In Barry Levinson's drama Liberty Heights (1999) , Johnson played one of the bigger roles alongside Adrien Brody and Ben Foster . For this role she was nominated for the Black Reel Award in 2000. She also took on one of the bigger roles in the drama Latter Days from 2003.

As a singer, Johnson released the album Remember to Breathe in 1998 . In 2005 her album The Trouble With Fiction was released. Johnson lives in California .
