Michael Richard Jai White (born November 10, 1967 in Brooklyn , New York City ) is an American stunt coordinator and actor . As an actor, he mainly appears in so-called martial arts films . The multiple karate champion was responsible for fighting scenes in various Steven Seagal and Jean-Claude Van Damme films.

Live and act

He was a teacher for 3 years. He began his career in the film business as an extra in action films such as Atomic Hero 2 in the late 1980s. He was also seen in supporting roles in the early 1990s, for example in Roland Emmerich's Universal Soldier . He played major roles alongside Alec Baldwin in Thick as Thieves and City of Industry (1997). He got his first leading role in 1995 for a television adaptation about the boxer Mike Tyson . Michael Jai White had his first leading role in the comic book version Spawn . However, mostly other supporting roles followed, and he also appeared in various television series, such as in an episode of Boston Public or CSI: Miami . His appearance in Kill Bill - Volume 2 , where he fights Bill with a sword and is killed, was cut out of the film and can only be seen in the extras on DVD.

In 2010 he made his debut as a director with the production of the action film The Fighters 2: The Beatdown ( Never Back Down 2 ). In 2016 he also shot the sequel The Fighters 3: No Surrender .

White has seven black belts in various martial arts (including Taekwondo ). He has lived in Los Angeles since 1992 .
