Joe Wade has been performing at rodeos for years . He is increasingly unsuccessful and has a drinking problem. Wade travels through the United States and meets 17-year-old African American hitchhiker Ruby Jean, whom he takes with him.
Wade and Ruby Jean travel together through Arizona and Nevada . They become friends, but the friendship suffers after meeting Rose, who is a friend of Wade.
Reviews
The magazine TV Spielfilm wrote that the plot of the tragic comedy was "a little too melancholy ". Only Tom Selleck has a “ star role ”. Cinema magazine published the same assessment .
