The Red Tarn Beck is a river in the Lake District , Cumbria , England . The Red Tarn Beck arises as the only drain of the Red Tarn on the east side of the Helvellyn . The river flows first in an easterly and then in a northerly direction to its confluence with the Glenridding Beck on the west side of the Birkhouse Moor .
