Networks (Original title: Redes ) is an American film drama from 1936 .
action
The film tells a story of growing labor rights among poor fishermen in a small village in Mexico. The inhabitants of the small coastal town of Alvarado on the Gulf of Mexico live from fishing. The fishermen go out to sea every day, but their catch doesn't bring them much as a local entrepreneur pays very little for the fish. There is resentment. Miro doesn't like the situation either, because his son dies due to insufficient medical supplies. He leads the fishermen in a revolt in the hope of ending poverty. But the entrepreneur wants to prevent that.
background
The film was directed on behalf of the Government Secretariat for Public Education in Mexico and restored by the World Cinema Foundation.
