The Reformed Church in Trin at the entrance of Surselva in the canton of Grisons is a Grade II listed Evangelical - Reformed church , which since the adoption of the Reformation than in the 1530s preaching church is used of the village.

History and equipment

The current village church is a late Gothic new building under the double patronage of Saints Germanus and Remigius from Auxerre from the pre-Reformation period in 1491. This partly used the structure of a Romanesque predecessor church. The church tower, which connects to the facade in the north, also testifies to a Romanesque base layer in the substructure.

The Reformation gained a foothold in Trin very early in 1535 under Pastor Hartmann . The images and statues of saints were left in the church until 1546.

Inside the church there are windows from the late Gothic period with stained glass from 1985 by the Basel artist Hanns Studer . The innovation came after the old stained glass had been removed in 1958/59 under the protest of part of the parish.

The sacristy on the north side of the choir is no longer in use. While the pulpit dates back to 1680 in the Baroque period , the organ and the gallery are more recent and date from 1959.

Church organization

Trin belongs within the Evangelical Reformed Regional Church of Graubünden as an independent parish to the Colloquium I Ob dem Wald .
