The reformed church in Vnà in the Lower Engadine is a place of worship under monument protection in the canton of Graubünden . It has a capacity of about 80 people and is located in the lower part of the village.

History and equipment

The time of origin of today's church building is obscure based on sources. After the Graubünden turmoil in the middle of the 17th century and throughout the 18th century, there was great tension with the neighboring Ramosch , as the Graubünden Synod Vnà had approved its own pastor, but the significantly larger Ramosch made this agreement difficult with various conditions. A disadvantage for Vnà was u. a. from the fact that the village does not have its own cemetery and therefore every funeral was an official act in which Ramosch was involved.

The church tower with a one-story bell chamber and two-part opening of the same in each direction has a rather flat tent roof over eyelashes . The floor plan of the nave, which is covered with a hipped roof, is strikingly asymmetrical. The sound capless pulpit decides to by a circular arc separated from the church room and from a filigree grid vault coated chorus , the at its center Tauftisch located on the after reformed also Buendner custom Supper is celebrated. A small round window in the choir shows the open Bible and emphasizes the Reformation principle « Sola scriptura ». In 1963, wall paintings were exposed and preserved as part of a restoration.

For a long time Vnà formed a parish with Ramosch and was also in pastoral fellowship with Tschlin , Strada and Martina . A merged parish of Valsot has existed since January 1, 2014 . It is part of the Colloquium VIII Engiadina Bassa - Val Müstair in the Evangelical Reformed Church of Graubünden .
