The Rainbow iris ( Iris innominata ) is a plant type from the kind of irises ( Iris ) within the family of the Iridaceae (Iridaceae).
features
The rainbow iris is an autumn-early summer green, perennial herbaceous plant that forms a rhizome as a perennial organ. It reaches heights of growth of 15 to 25 centimeters. The leaves are evergreen, 35 inches long, 0.2 to 0.4 inches wide, and longer than the stem . One side is dark green, the other is lighter. The leaves are purple at the base. The mostly one, rarely two flowers have a diameter of 6.5 to 7.5 centimeters and are golden yellow to pale yellow or pale purple in color and veined brown or purple. The hanging leaves measure 4.5 to 6.5 × 1.7 to 3 centimeters, the standards 4 to 5.7 × 0.9 to 1.6 centimeters. Both of them have a frizzy edge. The perigon tube is 4.5 to 12 inches long. The fruit is round in diameter and has 3 ribs.
The flowering time is in June.
Occurrence
The rainbow iris is found in the western United States in southwest Oregon and northwest California in sunny, dry forests.
