Grupa Regina is a Bosnian band .

Band history

The band was founded in Sarajevo in 1990 by Aleksandar "Aco" Čović ( guitar ), Denis Čabrić ( bass ) and Bojan Miličević ( drums ) as well as Bojan Milijaš and Boris Milijaš. After a long search, a potential singer was found in Davor Ebner. In the same year the band released their debut album Regina . After the release of their debut album, the band gave first nationwide concerts. Concerts were later held in the other republics of the former Yugoslavia .

In 1991 her second album Ljubav nije za nas was released . Due to the Yugoslav wars that began in the same year, the band members were forced to break up their band. Aleksandar Čović worked with new musicians as Aco Regina , while Ebner was the singer of the group Gruntibugli during this time.

Between 1992 and 1999 the band released - in which Aleksandar Čović had become the band leader - with Regina (released in 1992), a new recording of their debut album, Oteto od zaborava (1994), Godine lete (1995), Ja nisam kao drugi ( 1997) and Kada zatvorim oči (1999) four more albums.

In 2000 the band broke up. Before Ebner and Aleksandar Čović worked on their solo careers, which, however, could not follow on from the success with Regina. The band also released another album with Devedesete .

Six years later the band got back together with the original line-up and released a new album with Sve mogu that same year.

Regina represented Bosnia and Herzegovina at the Eurovision Song Contest 2009 in Moscow . In the victory of the Norwegian Alexander Rybak , the band took ninth place. After participating in the Eurovision Song Contest, the band released their studio album, which is called Vrijeme Je . It also contains the band's contribution to the Eurovision song contest Bistra Voda (German: Clear Water ), as well as an English and a Russian version of the song.
