Deen , actually Fuad Backović , (* 14. April 1982 in Sarajevo ) is a of Bosnia and Herzegovina originating singer .

After graduating from high school in Sarajevo, he stayed in the city and studied at the University of Economics. Deen has always had a strong passion for music. While he was still in high school, he attended the music college, where he concentrated on opera and singing.

"Seven up"

Deen took his first steps in music when he was twelve. He recorded his first album: "Studio Number 1" . In 1997 Deen received an offer from Gordan Radic-Gogi, the frontman of the group "Seven Up", to become the lead singer of this boy band. Deen accepted and in the next five years "Seven Up" released two albums: "Otvori Oci" ("Open Your Eyes") and "Seven" . The group's popularity was not limited to the Bosnian-Herzegovinian music market, "Seven Up" also became popular in neighboring countries. "Seven Up" also received many awards.

Because of his unusual singing skills, Deen received an offer from the Bosnian-Herzegovinian National Theater in 1998 to take part in a production of " Carmina Burana " . Deen has received praise for his singing skills from the most famous artists of the former Yugoslavia, including Davorin Popović , Kemal Monteno , Hajrudin Varešanović . He also recorded duets with well-known singers, for example with the Croatian singer Vlatka Pokos ("Poljubi me" ["Kiss Me"]) and with the Serbian superstar Anabela ("Ja imam nekog" ["I Have Somebody"]) .

Eurovision Song Contests

After several attempts, including with his boy band "Seven up", Deen was invited to the 2004 Eurovision Song Contest by Bosnian-Herzegovinian television . He therefore played the preliminary round alone and from the titles he presented, the song "In the disco", written by the Croatian singer Vesna Pisarović , was selected as a contribution. He finished ninth.

He was selected internally by Bosnian-Herzegovinian television to represent the country at the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 in Stockholm with the song Ljubav je ... together with Dalal Midhat-Talakić . There the group could not qualify for the final of the competition.
