Régisgenaux (born August 31, 1973 in Charleroi , † November 8, 2008 in Chaudfontaine ) was a Belgian football player who played for Standard Liège , Coventry City and Udinese Calcio in his career . After the end of his active career, he also appeared as a football coach . His brother Terrence , who is ten years his junior, is also active as a football player, but was never able to continue the successes of the multiple international.
He, Philippe Léonard and Michaël Goossens were also called "the three musketeers" by Standard Liège because of their promising career start. From 1992 to 2000, the defender played a total of 22 times for the Belgian national team . In 2002 he had to end his active career due to an injury. Most recently, he worked as a coach for the Belgian club RFC Seraing , having previously worked as a youth coach. Régisgenaux died in 2008 at the age of 35 after a pulmonary embolism . He left a wife and two children.
