The Rehlingen (sometimes also referred to as Rechlinger ) are an old Bavarian-Salzburg aristocratic family that had their headquarters in Schernegg , part of the Rehling community in the Aichach-Friedberg district. In their country of origin there is still a branch of the Rehlinger patrician family .

history

The lineage of the family begins with Ulrich Rehlinger , who was mentioned in a document in 1320 and died before April 30, 1333.

In 1665, Emperor Leopold I raised the brothers Raimund Ludwig Franz, Ferdinand Gottlieb, Johann Paris and Karl Heinrich von Rehlingen to the status of hereditary imperial barons with the predicates of Goldenstein, Radegg and Müllheim . In addition, their coat of arms was combined with that of the extinct family of the Dietenhamers and thus upgraded.

In 1709 the barons Raimund Dionysius and Franz Anton von Rehlingen were appointed country people from Salzburg .

The railings were owned by the Radeck , Goldenstein , Mühlheim, Ursprung and Elsenheim estates in Salzburg . The city ​​palace of the Rehlinger family in Salzburg is still named after this family today. The family crypt of the Rehlinger family is located in the collegiate church of St. Peter's Monastery in Salzburg.
