Reiner Kießler (born August 13, 1951 in Roda ) is a German canoe trainer .

Reiner Kießler studied sport at the German University for Physical Culture (DHfK) in Leipzig and specialized in performance diagnostics . He was hired as a junior trainer at the DHfK in 1976 . He used to play hand and soccer and did athletics. In 1992, he succeeded Wolf-Dieter Pockrandt as the national diagnostic trainer at DKV and was responsible for performance diagnostics. In 2005, after the resignation of Josef Capoušek, he became chief national trainer for canoe racing in the German Canoe Association (DKV). In 2016, the canoeists he supervised were the most successful German team at the Olympic Games in Rio . For this success he was named Trainer of the Year by the DOSB .

Reiner Kießler is married, has two children and lives in Roda .
