Reinersdorf (Hungarian: Zsámánd, Croatian: Žamar) is one of five places and cadastral communities in the municipality of Heiligenbrunn in southern Burgenland . In the course of the municipality reform in 1971, Reinersdorf was incorporated into the municipality of Heiligenbrunn together with Deutsch Bieling , Hagensdorf and Luising .

geography

The place has 174 inhabitants on an area of 741 hectares (as of June 2012).

The village of Reinersdorf is located in a south-westerly direction of the main town Heiligenbrunn and is about one kilometer away from the Hungarian border in a south-facing direction . Neighboring place on Hungarian territory is Nemesmedves ; however there is no road connection. The place is traversed by the Reinersdorfer Bach .

history

The first written mention comes from the year 1452. At that time the place was called Salman or Zsalman . Until 1631 the names Zaalmar , Sarmar and Samar are used .

From 1662 until reunification in 1860, Reinersdorf was divided into the districts of German Reinersdorf and Croatian Reinersdorf .

In the early years of the 20th century, the population decreased sharply. The reason was that numerous Reinersdorfer joined the wave of emigration to the USA and left their homeland.

Until 1921, Reinersdorf belonged to German West Hungary like the whole of Burgenland . After the end of the First World War , the municipality was awarded to Austria on the basis of the treaties of St. Germain and Trianon in 1919.

In 1941 Reinersdorf was connected to the STEWEAG power grid .

In 1971, in the course of the amalgamation of the municipalities, they were incorporated near Heiligenbrunn together with Deutsch Bieling, Hagensdorf and Luising.
