Reinhard Hauptenthal

Reinhard Hauptenthal (born February 17, 1945 in Kronach , Germany ; † September 29, 2016 in Vaison-la-Romaine , France ) was a German Esperantologist and Volapükist . Until his retirement in the late 1990s, he lived in Scheidt in Saarland , and since then in Malaucène in the south of France . He left his library with an extensive collection of various planned languages to the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek .

He was married and had a daughter.

Since the 1960s he used the pseudonym Artur E. Iltis . He also used this name for the Edition Iltis publishing house he founded .

From 1973 to 1974 he was editor of the Internacia Pedagogia Revuo , from 1973 to 1988 Dialogo and from 1985 to 1987 Volapükabled . He has made a particular contribution to researching and documenting the history of the planned language Volapük and the biography of its creator Johann Martin Schleyer .
