Reinhard Martin Herok (born February 28, 1961 in Salzburg ) is a former Austrian politician of the Austrian People's Party (ÖVP). From 1989 to 1994 he was a member of the Salzburg state parliament .

education and profession

Herok attended elementary school in Salzburg-Parsch between 1968 and 1972 and in 1972 switched to the Bundesrealgymnasium in Salzburg. In 1976 he left grammar school in order to continue his education from 1976 to 1981 at the Federal Commercial Academy in Salzburg. He passed his Matura here in 1981 and then began studying business administration at the universities of Vienna and Linz in 1981 , which he pursued until 1988.

Herok worked as a trainer for business and economics at WIFI-Salzburg and was also employed as a political assistant in the ÖVP parliamentary club in Vienna from 1981 to 1995. From 1994 to 2002 he worked for J. Walter Thompson as an account manager in the area of ​​New Business Development and Strategic Planning and then from 2002 to 2007 he worked as an account director at the Leo Burnett advertising agency in Vienna . In addition, he was sales and marketing manager at e-merch and in January 2007 became sustainability officer and new business manager at gugler * cross media in Melk . Herok has been working as an independent communications consultant and trainer since April 2014. He is also currently working as a lecturer at the FH Wieselburg and at the IMC FH Krems.

In addition to his job, Herok continued his education between 1998 and 2000 by completing a university course for market and communication research at the University of Vienna, and from 2001 to 2003 he attended the university course for business management.

Politics and functions

Herok was regional chairman of the Union for Higher Students from 1979 to 1983 and was active as regional chairman of the young ÖVP Salzburg from 1985 to 1992. Furthermore, he was active from 1990 to 1992 as Federal Deputy Chairman of the Young ÖVP. Between May 3, 1989 and May 1, 1994 he was a member of the Salzburg state parliament.
