Reinhard Scherer (* 1948 in Wangen im Allgäu ) is a German sculptor .

biography

From 1972 to 1973 Reinhard Scherer studied at the Free Art School in Stuttgart , from 1973 to 1977 he studied sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart under Rudolf Hoflehner . In 1980 he received a grant from the Kunststiftung Baden-Württemberg, and in 1983 a work grant from Casa Baldi in Olevano / Romano, Italy. From 1987 to 1988 Scherer had a teaching position for sculpture at the University of Applied Sciences in Pforzheim. Since 1976 he has participated in competitions and the realization of site-specific large sculptures and plaza designs. In 1992 he took part in the International Steel Sculptor Workshop in Berlin (Philip Morris Art Funding), in 1996 in the sculpture symposium in Metzingen and in 2000 in the "II Simposio Internacional de Escultura, Ciudad de Empresarial 2000", in Santiago de Chile .

Scherer produces large constructivist sculptures from steel and plaza designs.

Reinhard Scherer is a member of the Baden-Württemberg Artists' Association. He has been working as a freelance sculptor since 1978 and has lived in Alfdorf-Pfahlbronn since 1990 .
