Reinhold Schulte

Reinhold Schulte (born January 17, 1948 in Eslohe ) is a German insurance manager and association official . From 1999 to 2013 he was CEO of the Signal Iduna Group and has been its Chairman of the Supervisory Board since then.

Life

career path

Reinhold Schulte, who comes from Hochsauerland , completed an apprenticeship as an insurance salesman . In 1972 he joined the Dortmund branch of what was then Signal Insurance. In 1981 he took over the management of the district management and was district director until 1986. In 1987, he was promoted to the Signal Group's executive board as head of sales, which he headed as CEO from July 1, 1997.

When the Dortmund's Signal Iduna insurance and the Hamburg Nova Group on 1 July 1999 as the new organized group Signal Iduna brief break, Reinhold Schulte was Chairman of the Boards.

He has been chairman of the supervisory board since July 1, 2013.

Reinhold Schulte is married and has three children.

Professional and social engagement

Reinhold Schulte is extensively involved in professional associations, which has earned him national recognition. Against the backdrop of the cities of origin of Signal and Iduna, Dortmund and Hamburg, Reinhold Schulte is Vice President of the Dortmund Chamber of Commerce and Industry and a member of the Assembly of an Honorable Merchant in Hamburg . He is also a member of the Initiativkreis Ruhr and the Rotary Club Dortmund Hörde and is deputy chairman of the board of the Rheinisch-Westfälisches Institut für Wirtschaftsforschung e. V. (RWI) .

Schulte continues to be very active on a voluntary basis in a wide variety of funding institutions for training and further education. He is chairman of the board of trustees of the International School of Management , Dortmund, and a member of the university council of the Technical University of Dortmund . He is also a member of the North Rhine-Westphalia State Board of Trustees of the Donors' Association for German Science . Reinhold Schulte is also a member of the board of the Society for the Promotion of the Institute for Insurance Industry at the University of St. Gallen and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Institute for Vocational Education and Training of the Dortmund Insurance Industry.

Schulte is also a member of the board of trustees of the “From workshop to workshop” foundation, which promotes the development of craftsmanship. At Schulte's initiative, the Signal Iduna Group also supports the “Partners for Schools in North Rhine-Westphalia” foundation. On the board of the North Rhine-Westphalian Crafts Day , he campaigned for the nationwide campaign “Masters know how it's done”.

In addition, Schulte has chaired the Board of Trustees of the German AIDS Foundation since 2011 .

Honors

The Federal President awarded Reinhold Schulte the Cross of Merit 1st Class of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany , which the North Rhine-Westphalian Prime Minister Jürgen Rüttgers presented to him on June 18, 2009 during a ceremony in the Düsseldorf State Chancellery, in recognition of his “diverse and unselfish activities in public life” . His successor, Prime Minister Hannelore Kraft , awarded Schulte the Order of Merit of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia on August 24, 2012 for his "diverse voluntary services" . Schulte has also received multiple honors from the trade. As a representative of the seven chambers of crafts in North Rhine-Westphalia, the West German Chamber of Crafts awarded him the badge of honor back in 2002. In 2015 Schulte received the Golden Medal of Honor from the Düsseldorf Chamber of Crafts .
