Reinhold von Saucken

Reinhold Karl von Saucken (born July 7, 1889 in Königsberg i. Pr. , † June 5, 1966 in Munich ) was a German diplomat.

Life

Von Saucken studied law at the Albertus University in Königsberg and the Ruprecht Karls University in Heidelberg . In 1907 he became active with Hansjoachim von Rohr in the Corps Saxo-Borussia Heidelberg . From 1910 he worked in the Prussian administration of justice and from 1912 in internal administration. He was a soldier in World War I and was taken prisoner of war by the Russians in 1914. From 1920 he was in the diplomatic service of the German Reich. From 1922 to 1925 he was legation secretary at the German Embassy in Moscow , from 1925 to 1927 consul in Alexandria , then an advisor in the press department of the Reich government and from 1934 to 1939 consul general in Memelland . In 1940 he became envoy and head of the German delegation to the German-Soviet Central Border Commission and in 1941 he was the representative of the Foreign Office at the Reichskommissariat Ukraine .
