The place with its former parish church of the Assumption of Mary was first mentioned in 1131 as a gift from Count Friedrich von Saar Werden to the Wörschweiler monastery .
The castle Beilstein is located in Reiskirchen. However, it is unclear whether this castle actually ever existed.
The place Reiskirchen formed together with Erbach the municipality Erbach-Reiskirchen. On April 1, 1936, this community was dissolved and incorporated into the district town of Homburg.
