In the early 1990s, the label strived more into the mainstream area. Even hip-hop was now more strongly represented. So were u. a. Common , Three 6 Mafia , Hussein Fatal , MOP , The Beatnuts and Mac Mall . 50 percent of the shares were held by Sony Music .

Eventually the label was renamed Relativity Entertainment Distribution and was taken over entirely by Sony in 2007. It now acts as a RED distribution .
