Rembertów (German Rembertau ) is a district of the Polish capital Warsaw . Between 1939 and 1957 Rembertów was an independent place and was then incorporated into the Praga-Południe district of Warsaw . Between 1994 and 2002 it formed an independent municipality called Warszawa-Rembertów . In the 1940s there was a prison in the district that was first used by the German occupation troops ( Rembertow military training area ) and later by Soviet organizations (e.g. NKVD ).

The city district covers an area of ​​19.30 km² and had 21,893 inhabitants in 2004, compared to 23,441 in 2012. It is sparsely populated; There are many designated recreation areas in the district. More than 30% of the city district is covered with forest. Parts of it form the forest reserve Kawęczyn.
