Rembert von Ketteler

Rembert von Ketteler (* unknown; † June 6, 1653 ) was canon in Münster and president of the cathedral chapter .

Origin and family

Rembert von Ketteler came from the Westphalian noble family von Ketteler , from which numerous well-known personalities emerged. He was the son of Hermann Kettler zu Altassen and his wife Alheid von Diepenbrock. His brothers were:

Act

On April 10, 1608 he took possession of the cathedral priest of Canon Wilhelm de Wendt. He was emancipated with the revolt to the Ketteler, Diepenbrock, Stael and Beesten families on April 29th of that year. His appointment as cathedral sexton fell on January 28, 1620. Three years later, on April 3, 1623, Rembert opted for the provost office of St. Ludgeri and exactly two years later after the death of Otto von Dorgelo the obedience of Schwienhorst . He was archdeacon of Winterswijk / NL. On May 9, 1638 he was appointed assessor of the Pfennigkammer . Rembert died on June 6, 1653 as president of the cathedral chapter .
