Remigio Crescini

Remigio Crescini OSB (born May 5, 1757 in Piacenza , † July 20, 1830 in Montefiascone ) was an Italian clergyman, bishop of Parma and cardinal of the Roman Church .

Life

He entered the Benedictine Abbey of Montecassino and made his profession there on November 13, 1774 .

On June 23, 1828 Remigio Crescini was called to be Bishop of Parma. He was ordained bishop on July 6th of the same year by the Cardinal Bishop of Palestrina , Giuseppe Spina ; Co- consecrators were Federico Guarini OSB, Bishop of Venosa , and Curia Bishop Peter Augustine Baines OSB.

Pope Pius VIII created him in the consistory of July 27, 1829 , the very first of this pope, as a cardinal priest . Remigio Crescini received the cardinal's hat and the titular church of San Giovanni a Porta Latina on July 5, 1830.

Just two weeks later he died of a stomach disease on his way back from Rome to Parma in the Hotel Aquila Bianca in Montefiascone.
