René Lawson

René Lawson (born January 22, 1891 in the province of La Rioja ) was an Argentine diplomat and politician .

René Lawson was the son of Juana Matterson and Guillermo Lawson. From 1932 to 1933 he sat for the province of Santa Fe in the Argentine National Congress . From 1934 to 1937 he was governor of the Neuquén province . In 1937 he was special envoy for the coronation of Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon and George VI. From 1938 to 1941 he was Ambassador to the Court of St James’s . In 1947 he headed the Springer y Móller company . From 1947 to 1951 he was Legation Councilor in Copenhagen , Denmark . On October 20, 1953, he received exequatur as consul general in London . From 1953 to 1954 he was chargé d'affaires in Madrid . From 1954 to 1955 he was ambassador to New Delhi , where he resided at the Hotel Imperial .
