Renate Ewert
Renate Ewert (born November 9, 1933 in Koenigsberg , † December 4, 1966 in Munich ) was a German film actress .
Life
Her father was a respected grain merchant and her mother was from Poland. During the Second World War , the parents fled with the children from Königsberg and settled in Hamburg . There Ewert successfully took part in Ida Ehre's acting seminar.
After appearances at the Kleine Komödie Hamburg and at the Theater am Besenbinderhof , she came into contact with the film industry as a voice actress. In 1955 Paul May cast the then 20-year-old in the role of Barbara Bruks in 08/15 in the homeland , the third part of the 08/15 trilogy .
From then on she appeared in many post-war films , including the second Edgar Wallace film The Red Circle (1960). The tabloid press also dealt with her and her relationships with celebrities and actors such as Paul Hubschmid , Hans-Hermann Weyer , Günter Pfitzmann , Gunther Philipp and Franz Marischka . In 1963 an international career seemed to be taking off when she appeared in several overseas productions such as Angelique . Nevertheless, the roles became sparse, which was probably also due to the pill addiction discovered later.
On December 10, 1966, Ewert was found dead in her Munich apartment by Susanne Cramer , a friend who meanwhile lived in the USA and wanted to visit her. According to official information, she had died several days earlier as a result of pill and alcohol abuse, while Cramer assumed that she had starved to death. Her father Paul Ewert, who had insisted that the cause and date of death be determined by an autopsy, committed suicide in 1967 using sleeping pills, and her mother Helene committed suicide in 1969 . Susanne Cramer also died in 1969. The urn grave of Ewert and her parents is located in the main cemetery in Ohlsdorf in Hamburg .
