The youth magazine Bravo has determined two winners in the sweepstakes My sweetheart, come with me to the blue sea : The housewife Hansi Brammer and Lilo Fischer, who works in a beauty salon. Both won a trip in a caravan from Munich to Italy . If you travel to Italy and back in a caravan in three weeks, you will win an additional 10,000 marks. The condition is that the caravan is always pulled by strange cars and that the two women cope with different tasks on the trip. Both accept the challenge. Reporting and control them from Bravo -Redakteurin Dr. Karin Beer accompanies. Truck driver Bubi Hanemann, who is in the audience, immediately fell in love with Hansi and decides to follow the group on the way to Italy, as he has to bring a delivery to Ravenna himself .
Lilo, Hansi and Karin are initially taken by an older man, who, however, has above all kept an eye on Lilo. Halfway through, they look for a new driver who could attach the caravan. While Hansi meets Bubi, who would take her to Salzburg , Lilo is primarily interested in meeting a millionaire on the trip. So she becomes aware of Martin Exel, who drives a valuable car and takes the group to Salzburg. Little does Lilo know that Martin is really just the mechanic for hotel chain owner Paul Marzez. Martin realizes that Lilo thinks he is a rich man, and Paul agrees to play the game. In Salzburg, Lilo now meets Paul and does not know which of the two rich men to choose. Lilo and Hansi solve their first task of earning ten marks within twelve hours by working as babysitters, car washers and tour guides. Hansi sees Bubi again at work and they both confess their love.
The journey continues to Lake Como . Lilo sees Paul again, pretending to be just a simple mechanic. From now on Lilo ignores him and chooses Martin. Paul has long been interested in Karin, but she sees through his masquerade and is disappointed that he insists on being a mechanic before her too. She turns to him, but both make up when Paul apologizes to her. Lilo, in turn, realizes that she loves Martin despite his status. Paul's cousin Annabelle, who works as a singer, meets young Tommy in Italy, who followed his love Lilo, but never had a chance with her due to his lack of money. They both fall in love and become a couple - both privately and on stage.
Further competition tasks - spending a night in jail and crossing a busy place barefoot, singing and blindfolded - both women manage by starting a fight in a bar and visiting St. Mark's Square in Venice . In the end, it only becomes difficult to return to Munich on time, as your caravan is mixed up and taken to Flensburg by an American transport plane . Members of the army bring the car to Munich and the two women finally arrive on time.
